Reason #2: Cork bags are made from sustainable sources
Cork is sourced from the bark of the cork oak tree. The tree is not harmed - in fact regular harvesting generally supports tree growth, allowing the tree to live for 250-300 years. Those harvesting the cork are also paid a living wage to help support their families.
Cork forests are also helping in the fight against climate change. According to the findings from a recent survey by the Portuguese Higher Institute of Agronomy, the CO2 retention capacity of a cork oak forest can reach 14.7 tons per hectare per year.
Reason #3: Cork bags are vegan and cruelty-free

A large portion of the world's cork forests are in Portugal which is home to a number of endangered species. In helping these cork forests to thrive, it also provides these animals with a home.
